With an engineering staff, degreed Product Specialists and a UL 501 panel shop, we assist customers in solving complex automation and pneumatic issues.
Essential Job Duties and Requirements:
In support of our mission statement, the Mechanical Engineer provides assistance to our Field Sales Team and their customers. This position is responsible for developing engineered solutions for assigned projects. This position is also responsible for developing and completing designs on time and communicating any difficulties to the assigned Engineering/Project Manager.
  • Develop scope of work for design projects based on customer needs
  • Develop project plans based on scope of work
  • Serve as project lead for engineered solutions and automation projects
  • Design custom machinery and automation applications
  • Conduct design reviews and quote proposals
  • Create quotes of automation systems
  • Design custom compressed air and vacuum systems
  • Design safety enclosures and work stations
  • Design end of arm tooling for gantry and robotic applications
  • Program robotic systems
  • Accompany the sales team on field calls
  • Create quotes on custom builds
  • Size components such as motors, gear boxes, actuators, etc.
  • Follow-up on all assigned projects
  • Provide Technical Assistance to customers and Sales Engineer
  • Perform Sales Calls with or without Territory Sales Engineer
Skills Required:
  • 4 year degree in Mechanical Engineering or in a related field
  • Experience with designing and upgrading automated equipment, working in a team environment, and working on multiple projects at once
  • Knowledge of machining and assembly tools, equipment, and techniques
  • Experience with a solid-molding CAD software package such as SolidWorks
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic and electronic devices commonly used in automated equipment
  • 3+years of experience designing and developing electro-mechanical and pneumatic systems
  • Experience in automation solutions with a exposure and or experience on robotics
  • Robotic programming
  • Experience designing industrial or manufacturing automated systems
  • Experience using machining and assembly tools and techniques
  • Ability to work directly with vendors to specify, source and integrate machine components
  • Experience with getting project definition from customers and meeting their needs
  • Working knowledge of industrial pneumatics and sensors
  • A strong analytical ability capable of understanding complex systems with multiple variables
  • Understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack up and manufacturing processes for precision machined parts
