Role Summary
In this role, the culinary team carefully curates seasonal menus to offer a delectable variety of options that provide lasting energy to fuel productivity. We're looking for Cooks to join out prestigious Culinary Team. The Cook is responsible for assisting in daily production of culinary requirements and works in partnership with the service teams to ensure we are exceeding the expectations of our guest. We need someone with experience in a la carte restaurants and high-volume conference environments.

The Cook will also perform duties which maintain the cleanliness and organization of all food service department areas, utensils, equipment and vehicles in a sanitized and orderly condition. We need someone customer focused, with strong attention to detail, as well as someone highly motivated and ready to work in a team.

- Minimum High School/GED diploma
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of culinary arts
- Some experience preferred
- Must be highly motivated and ready to lead themselves and other team members
- Ability to take initiative and solve problems
- Proven excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to actively engage in conversations with clients
- Proven excellent attention to detail
- Must have knowledge in sanitation guidelines
- Food Hygiene or Food Handling Certificate preferred (NYC DOH)
- TIPS Certifications preferred
- Knowledge of various cooking techniques such as baking, roasting, broiling, grilling, and the use of required tools

Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare, season and cook various soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other food related items for consumption in the establishment
- Estimate food requirements and place the correct order to suppliers
- Observe and understand all DEHC safety and security procedures
- Observe and test foods by tasting, smelling, and ensuring the correct temperatures in accordance to DEHC standards
- Present oneself in a professional manner
- Care and cleaning of kitchen equipment, dish room and pot washing areas
- Washes pots, pans, trays and other cooking and serving equipment
- Operate and maintain dish room equipment according to sanitary standards
- Follows principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment
- Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or with the use of a hand truck
- Removal of trash, separates into designated containers, and maintain clean floor in kitchen and dining area
- Steam cleanse and/or scrubs out trash and garbage cans 
- Inform chef and manager in a timely manner when supplies are low
- Follows company standards for attendance and punctuality
