A thriving aerospace company in San Diego is seeking an Senior Accountant, CPA to oversee the performance of the consolidation of financial statements, various general accounting functions and fixed asset accounting, and overseeing accounts payable and invoicing. 
Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate month-end closing and consolidation process to ensure timely and accurate generation of information
  • Responsible for preparing timely monthly financial statements including income statement, balance sheet, month-end journal entries, and various reports required by corporate finance policy
  • Assist with budget preparation
  • Ensure timely distribution of reports to management
  • Responsible for reconciling intercompany transactions 
  • Provide support for preparation of the corporate quarter-end and year-end financials 
  • Review all monthly and quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations 
  • Ensure integrity and maintenance of the general ledger and the financial reports
  • Perform monthly corporate department trend analysis, including identification, research and resolution of issues
  • Ensure invoicing is completed timely and accurately
  • Provide and run reports from Workday and QuickBooks, as needed
  • Serve as a key resource for accounting knowledge and general ledger coding
  • Ensure General Accounting stays in compliance with DCAA requirements
  • Prepare for and administer the periodic DCAA audits for systems reviews, annual cost submissions, and contract closeouts
  • Provide audit schedules and requested information for internal DCAA compliance auditors, external audits, and tax compliance related to areas of core responsibility
  • Identify and lead special projects as directed by President
  • Performs other duties as required 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration is required
  • CPA
  • Minimum four (4) years accounting experience
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and practices, FAR and CAS requirements
  • DCAA Audit/Government Contracts experience required
